Meet Our Instructors



Director Kathleen Henry

Kathleen Henry has many years of experience teaching children and adults of all ages in ballet and acting. She has taught in California for San Jose Ballet, Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre, and Ballet Arts Centre. In Winnipeg for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Contemporary Dancers Canada and  Manitoba Theatre for Young People. Her directing credits are extensive and have mainly focused on children's theatre and dance. She has directed and choreographed theatre productions and ballets  in California at the Henry Mello Performing Arts Centre, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and San Jose Performing Arts Centre. Kathleen was performance director for a  children's television show on Discovery Channel. She has written and directed in film.  Kathleen served as the artistic director for Santa Cruz Performing Arts Alliance in California, working with Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Kathleen studied her dance training with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Contemporary Dancers, York University, and with Kristine Elliot (Former Soloist with American Ballet Theatre). Kathleen also holds a degree in Theatre and Film from the University of Winnipeg.


Instructor Taylor Gregory

Taylor was born in Winnipeg and has been studying musical theatre for the past ten years. Musical theatre has always been something that Taylor holds close to her heart and she has been singing and dancing ever since she was four years old. At thirteen years old, Taylor joined Winnipeg's Junior Musical Theatre Company and performed with the company for five years. During this time she had the opportunity to be involved in countless productions, including a locally written musical that was performed in New York City. Taylor recently graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg with her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre in both the Acting stream and in Drama in Education. Last Spring, Taylor was selected to teach IB Theatre at ACS Athens International School in Greece. Taylor has also taught musical theatre at Manitoba Theatre for Young People and Rady Jewish Community Centre and she loves being able to share her passion for musical theatre with her students.


Angelo "Joe Boy Rock" Lamsen is a dance teacher with over a decade of experience. From performing on stage to battling in contests to freestyling in open circles, his expertise is as vast as it is specialized. Since 2008 he has been studying and practicing the street dance styles of Locking and Popping. Having entered battles locally and abroad, he has developed unique freestyle concepts and battle tactics. Most notably trained by members of the original Lockers and Electric Boogaloos, he and his crew (GoodFunk Gang) continue to spread accumulated knowledge to eager students. Styles taught: Boogaloo, King Tut, Waving, Gliding, Robot and more.


Instructor Maggie Dalke

Maggie has been involved in theatre and musical theatre for more than 10 years and has always loved performing. She graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre. Maggie has had the opportunity to train with several artists in the city including Paul DeGurse, Donna Fletcher, Tom Soares, Hope McIntyre, and Kayla Gordon. In 2015, Maggie joined the Theatre Dance Centre team as a TA with the production of "Into the Woods." Since then, she has helped out with our productions of "Peter Pan"(2016), "The Princess and the Pea" (2016), and "Alice In Wonderland Jr." (2017). She also co-directed this year's summer production of "Cinderella."


Instructor Mara Turenne

Mara has been training in tap, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, and ballet since she was 5 years old. She has won numerous scholarships through Dance Manitoba at the Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival and Triple Threat Dance Convention. She has been with Theatre Dance Centre for 2 years and has been in the productions of Into The Woods jr. and Alice in Wonderland jr. She is very excited to share her passion and inspire others through her dancing!

Instructor Arielle Block

Arielle Block is a singer, dancer, and actor born in Winnipeg. She enjoys performing musical theatre, opera, and classical music. She has been trained in many genres of dance throughout her life. Arielle has been part of award-winning dances at the Canadian National Dance Championship as well as adjudicator’s choice dances at the Manitoba Dance Festival. She is currently a dancer in the Chai Folk Ensemble. Arielle graduated form the University of Winnipeg holding a Bachelor of Arts in theatre, performance acting. She is now pursuing a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance and musical education. She loves sharing her experiences and guidance with students of all ages. Arielle is very excited to be teaching this season at Theatre Dance Center.


Tracy "Trigger Tray" Tomchuk has been dancing almost 20 years, covering a wide range of genres such as Ballet & Jazz with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, African, Hip Hop, Breaking, Latin Ballroom, West Coast Swing and Belly Dancing. She has been the lead choreographer for local Nigerian music artist Benjamin Tamana since 2014, and together they have opened up for international artists such as Iyanya, Davido and Rough & Smooth. Tomchuk has performed with talented and reputable organizations such as BOSS Dance Team, DARK Dance Company and Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
